About POA Prosthetics

Two Names, Several Locations, and a Long History...

P&O Associates was formed in 1989 by Tom Passero, CP. At the time, Tom was the senior staff prosthetist at the Center for Rehabilitation Technology at Helen Hayes Hospital, but felt a growing desire to engage patients in a more intimate, private-practice setting. Since its beginnings on Ballard Road, the company has always been anchored in Middletown. As a response to an ever-expanding regional population, as well as increasing numbers of physicians and therapists adding us to their healthcare teams, P&O Associates opened an additional clinic in Monticello (1996) and continues to evaluate service needs in surrounding communities.

M&M Prosthetic Associates was started in the late 1970's by Michael Lefton, CPO, to serve the patient population of Ulster and Dutchess Counties. The ownership of M&M Prosthetics was transferred following Mr. Lefton's retirement in 2003, with Tom taking full responsibility for patient care and operations in 2004.

Today, the two companies continue to operate under different names because both are recognized in their local communities. However, the group of individuals caring for you are all a part of the same team.

Helping You Meet Life Where You Are!

Everyone is different. Each patient comes to us with a unique body build and individual needs and goals. A prosthesis or a brace that works perfectly for one patient won't necessarily work for another. So we approach each person just as they are - an individual. Our every effort is to meet your needs and to help you achieve your goals...
